It has been far to long since I have sent you all a message! So many great things to report.
First of all Tonya just got the all clear from her CT can of her brain adn Pet scan of her body showing the cancer is gone! These are being conducted every 3 months for now.
Tonya looks and feels great! It is amazing to think of all she has gone through both physically and mentally over the last two years. To see her now you would never guess the challenges she has faced, the pain endured and fear overcome.
Thanks to many of you Tonya was able to take her trip to Florida in June to take that walk to get her hard earned diploma and to have a vacation with her family. They had a wonderful time!
Summer has been busy for her with the kids, 20 year class reunions, camping and fun. Tonya is so excited to be heading back to work at Gardiner! She is exicited to get back to what she loves and what she has worked so hard for.
It is hard to believe it has been almost a year since many of us walked for Tonya's Team at the Race For The Cure, but we are quickly approaching that date once again. Shayla is heading up the team this year and has started things online. Tonya would love to see you all out there again and new faces too! Every walk down Survivors lane is a VICTORY. You can register for Tonya's Team by following this link

Thanks again so much for all of your support!

Different direction
Well I have given up on the 3day walk. For many reasons: I could not find a partner, it's in Seattle, too huge of a fundraising commitment, and it's the same day as the Portland Race for the Cure. I can't not be on my sisters team for our local race for the cure!
So now I'm the captain of Team Tonya for Portland Race for the Cure and next year we will have a Team Tonya for Relay for Life.
I wouldn't say I've given up all together, just taken a different direction.

memories
While cleaning out my Miche purse (boy that little purse sure does hold a lot), I found many things. Along with the receipts, a diaper and wipes, toys, and expired appointment cards; I found a pad of sticky notes. Why is this significant, you ask. Well when Tonya was going through her "episode" phase she needed to write everything down, so you'd better have a pen and paper quick. Now this is not the first time I've cleaned out my purse since November, but I think I left it in there cuz I just wasn't sure that part of this journey was over. Well now I am certain that it is over! Everyday Tonya is recovering and moving forward!!! She is in San Diego this spring break and I'm so thankful that she will be showing our family and her friends how amazing she is recovering and how strong she continues to be.

Lots of Helping Hands
When Tonya was first diagnosed Marion her wonderful sister-in-law enrolled to this website (Tonya's Helpers) to keep Tonya and her supporters in touch. Recently Marion sent out an email about the good news and she kindly had a "plug" for supporting me. Here is what she wrote:
It doesn't seem that long ago that I dreaded having to give reports as I am sure you dreaded getting them. However, I am so happy to say today that once again I am reporting to you all that Tonya got her second all clear from her MRI and CT Scans. It is amazing to say the least. When my line rang at work after her appointment I didn't realize I had been literally holding my breath until I heard her speak. For those that haven't had a chance to see Tonya she looks great and feels better all the time. She is looking forward to their upcoming trip to San Diego to see family and get some needed sunshine. Again, thank you to each and every one of you for all your thoughts and prayers.
Tonya's sister Shayla has agreed to raise at least $2,300 in donations and walk 60 miles over 3 days to help end breast cancer. She would appreciate your help in reaching her fundraising goal. You can donate online at The3Day.org, just click on donate and search for Shayla's fundraising page. You can also call 800-996-3Day to donate over the phone. She would also love for you to join her team. Follow her journey to the 3Day at http://3dayshayla.blogspot.com/.
I hope to have another wonderful report for you again soon!

Oh Happy Day!!
Oh happy day, happy day, He wash the cancer away! What a glorious day!
Tonya found out the results of her tests last week, and she is clear of cancer. The burden has been lifted, thank God! And that is exactly how it happened, all the prayers and positive thinking! She is a miracle blessed by God!

BUNCO!
Last night I had a great time with my friends playing Bunco. Maureen was the gracious coordinator and host. I yelled Bunco the most and won $45! I was so excited because my winnings are going towards my donation goal. Then my kind, big hearted, giving friend Val game me her winnings as a donation. Thank you so much Val! I'm looking forward to next month's "Bunco Night!"
