So I started this blog on the day my sister got news that her breast and liver were cancer free. 3 days later she had what looked like a stroke and it was discovered that she had a cancerous tumor on the brain stem (they didn't scan that area previously).
So I wasn't able to post anything to this blog. Long story short...she had about 10 radiation treatments to her whole brain (1 every day). Now she is getting ready for a pinpointed radiation treatment that will last about 2 hours. One doc will look at the affected area and another doc will zap it. My question is, "then what" unfortunately there is no clear answer to my question. The past few days have been crazy (to say the least)!!!
Her brain is now having what I call post dramatic stress and making her crazy. The doc's call it "Radiation Brain." Her mind is racing yet having a hard time thinking straight. Monday 10/25 she was admitted to the hospital to insure she is getting some sleep and staying safe. She came home last night 10/27 and is trying to get back to some normalcy. Last night she went to Aubrey's volleyball practice and this morning she and Kurt ran some errands. Tomorrow, Friday 10/29 she is looking forward to a spa day with Gretchen and Val.
